Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails reunite against a powerful new adversary, Shadow, a mysterious villain with powers unlike anything they’ve ever faced. As his abilities surpass all, Team Sonic must seek out an unlikely alliance. Jim Carrey, Ben Schwartz, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Krysten Ritter, Colleen O’Shaughnessy, and Lee Majdub all share hobbies that may surprise their fans. The creators of the previous films mentioned playing Sonikku adobenchâ 2 (2001) and the solo game Shadow the Hedgehog (2005) as inspiration. The film is also inspired by narrative elements from the Saturday morning animated series Sonic at the Movies (1993). When Tom (James Marsden) is brought in by ambulance, the sound of the ambulance is an American siren, not an English one. Commander Walters: [on Shadow] Project Shadow is far superior to anything we’ve ever faced. Shadow’s story started out much like yours, Sonic. But where you found family and friends, Shadow only found pain and loss. SPOILER: There’s a scene in the end credits where Sonic arrives at a New York State Park and faces off against Metal Sonic’s robot army, only to be saved by Amy Rose. Featured on Geeks + Gamers: Sonic 3 – Trailer Reaction (2024). Sonic The Hedgehog 3 is hands down the best of the trilogy. Best script, best character development, great humor, and Keanu Reeves is simply a find in the role of Shadow. This movie differs from the first two mostly in tone, this movie is a touching adaptation of Sonic Adventure 2, and they did it better than I could have imagined. Shadow’s past is depicted in a terrifyingly beautiful way, not to mention his flawless computer model, I was so impressed with his look. Jim Carrey was funny as always, it’s a real pleasure to have him in our franchise, he was incredibly funny as Ivo and Gerald. Ben Schwartz, Collin and Idris – they all shined like never before. As a huge Sonic fan, this movie exceeded my expectations – what a feeling to be a Sonic fan! Definitely one of the best parts of Sonic history. 9/10.
